Terms of Service

Effective August 22, 2026

The service

lowering.tax provides self-service software that helps Texas property owners organize information, prepare documents, and arrange delivery of an owner-controlled property-tax protest. You remain the filer and make all factual, procedural, value, hearing, and settlement choices.

Your responsibilities

You must be the property owner, provide accurate information, review every generated statement and document, make the selections shown on the protest form, sign your own filing, and monitor notices and deadlines shown by the appraisal district. Do not submit information or sign for another owner.

Electronic records and signatures

Before signing, you must separately consent to use electronic records and your drawn electronic signature. You can download the form for your records, and you may withdraw before submission by leaving the signing flow. After submission, contact support for a copy or help accessing the record; withdrawal does not undo a record already signed or delivered.

No outcome guarantee

Estimates, comparisons, generated text, and suggested values are software outputs based on available data and owner-provided facts. They are not guarantees of eligibility, acceptance, a value reduction, tax savings, settlement, or hearing outcome.

Filing and tracking

The application will identify the supported county, tax year, calculated ordinary deadline, and available delivery channel before payment. A filing is not complete merely because you paid or signed. The application will separately display submission and delivery status. You remain responsible for reviewing appraisal-district communications.

Price and refunds

The price shown at checkout is charged once per property and tax year. If payment succeeds but the supported ordinary protest cannot be created or delivered because of an eligibility conflict or service failure, lowering.tax will issue a refund to the original payment method. A particular appraisal outcome is not a basis for a refund.

Acceptable use and availability

Do not misuse the service, impersonate an owner, upload malicious content, interfere with security, or attempt unauthorized access. External appraisal-district, mail, payment, storage, and AI services may be unavailable or change. We may suspend unsafe or unsupported workflows.
